Great Danish Battle Axe – Hand Forged Replica (Made to Order)
Steel: 1080 high carbon steel (solid bar)
Heat treatment: Fully heat-treated – annealed, oil-quenched, and tempered at 220°C for 2 hours
Edge: Razor sharp – made for precision cutting tests (not for combat use)
Finish: Polished satin finish with a traditional curved blade and pronounced beard for reduced weight and historic accuracy
Handle: Hand carved from mountain ash wood – harvested, dried, and fitted by hand
Sealed with boiled linseed oil for protection and to bring out the grain
Mounted with a secure cross wedge
Handle length: 100cm / 39’’
Blade width: 25cm / 10’’
Total weight: approx. 1800g / 1.8 kg / 3.97 lbs

Ich machte es Dan, dem Schmied, sprichwörtlich schwer und dennoch machte er es mir leicht.
Danke dafür.
Den einzigartigen Stiel 'mit der Gabel' machte ich aus Hainbuche und dieser wiegt jetzt entgültig ca. 1370 Gramm (laienhaft getrocknet) und damit geschätzt 600-700 g mehr als die gewöhnlichen, sehr guten Stiele von Dan (NoricSteel).
Anstelle eines Keils versuchte ich eine Verklebung mit Fischleim und Sägemehl.
Die Äxte von Dan empfehle ich weiter und dies ist schon meine Dritte und ich freue mich auf Weitere.
PS: Ein Video hat etsy mir verboten, nur weil das Smartphone zu alt ist. Sorry Dan.
